The Versatile Blogger Award has been making the rounds through the personal finance blogger community over the past several months and I’ve been trying to think of a way to put my own spin on it for a while.
First, a heartfelt thanks to Mel from Broke Girl Rich, Jessica from Mo’ Money Mo’ Houses, Al from Saving the Crumbs, and Erin from Broke Millennial for the nominations!
With Halloween rapidly approaching, I thought it might be fun to share my seven favorite DIY Halloween costumes in place of the seven random facts about me. I look forward to making my costume every year.

2013 – American Gothic
This wasn’t a Halloween costume or a DIY project, however, I was at the real American Gothic house in Eldon, IA last year. Their gift shop has handmade costumes, so I couldn’t resist gettin’ my picture made with one of the most famous houses in all of art history!
Readers: Have you made any particularly clever Halloween costumes? What are your plans for this year?
